Copy the Video URL
Open your browser and navigate to the video you want to download. Copy the URL from the address bar. 4K Video Downloader supports links from YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, TikTok, Twitch, Bilibili, Dailymotion, SoundCloud, and many more.
Paste into 4K Video Downloader
Open 4K Video Downloader and click the green Paste Link button in the upper left corner of the interface. The application will automatically recognize the URL and begin parsing the available download options.
Choose Your Format and Quality
A pop-up window will appear with all available download options. Select whether you want video or audio, choose your preferred resolution or bitrate, and pick the output format. You will see the approximate file size next to each option.
Click Download
Click the Download button to start saving the file. You can monitor progress in the main window. Once complete, right-click the item to play, show in folder, or copy the link.
How to Download a Playlist
Downloading multiple videos at once is almost identical to downloading a single video. Follow these steps to save entire playlists or channels.
- Copy the playlist URL from your browser instead of a single video link.
- Paste the link into 4K Video Downloader using the green Paste Link button.
- Select your preferences for quality, format, and whether to create a dedicated folder.
- Confirm the download and the application will parse every video in the playlist automatically.
Note: The free version supports playlists with up to 24 videos or audio pieces. A paid license removes this limit and adds channel subscription features.
How to Download Subtitles
Automatic Subtitle Download
When parsing a video, 4K Video Downloader automatically detects available subtitle tracks. You can choose to download them as separate SRT files or embed them directly into the video container for seamless playback.
Language Selection
If multiple languages are available, you can select your preferred option before downloading. Supported languages include English, Deutsch, Nederlands, and many others depending on the source video.
Embed in Video
From the General Options tab, enable the setting to integrate subtitles inside the videos you download. This ensures subtitles are always available regardless of which player you use.
Troubleshooting Missing Subtitles
If subtitles are not detected, the source platform may not provide them for that specific video. Auto-generated captions from some platforms may also have limited availability.
How to Configure the Proxy
If certain content is blocked in your region, you can use the built-in proxy setup to access legally available videos without installing a separate VPN.
Step 1: Open Settings
Launch 4K Video Downloader and click the gear icon or Tools menu to open the preferences window.
Step 2: Navigate to Connections
Select the Connections or Network tab. Here you will find the proxy configuration options.
Step 3: Enter Proxy Details
Enter your proxy server address, port, and authentication credentials if required. You can choose between HTTP and SOCKS5 proxies depending on your provider.
Step 4: Test and Save
Click Save or Apply, then attempt to parse a video to confirm the proxy is working correctly. If you encounter errors, verify your credentials and server address.
Common Problems & Solutions
Ensure you are using the latest version of 4K Video Downloader. Platform changes can break older versions. Check your internet connection and try again. If the issue persists, restart the application and clear the download list.
Not all videos are uploaded in 4K. The download options reflect the highest quality available from the source. If 4K is not listed, the original upload does not include that resolution. Also verify that your selected format supports the resolution you want.
Update your operating system and graphics drivers to the latest versions. Try running the application as administrator on Windows. On macOS, ensure you have granted necessary permissions in System Preferences. Reinstalling the application may also resolve corrupted configuration files.
From the Connections tab in settings, check if you have accidentally set a speed limit. Ensure no other applications are consuming your bandwidth. Try changing your DNS settings or using a proxy if your ISP is throttling connections to video platforms.
Ensure the URL is copied correctly from your browser. Some platforms use shortened or tracking URLs that may not parse correctly. Try opening the video in a private browsing window and copying the direct URL. Make sure the video is publicly accessible and not behind a login wall.
